Fall 2009 SIFE/FLA Ethics Case Competition

Captain Nicole Azzi

UF SIFE considers business ethics an essential part of an undergraduate student's education, however, the UF curriculum does not make it mandatory for students to take a class about ethics. As a result,  students go through college without ever seriously considering the importance of ethics in the business world. This Fall, 100 sophomore students in the WCBA Florida Leadership Academy worked in groups to analyze a business ethics problem and present a solution to a group of business professionals. By creating and delivering a presentation, these students developed their public speaking, critical thinking, and teamwork skills in addition to refining their ethical decision making practices. These are all essential skills to help our future business leaders succeed.
